We offer two distinct networks to support promising AI safety organizations. The Catalyze Investor Network focuses on for-profit ventures, and the Seed Funding Circle for non-profit initiatives. Both networks share the same mission of providing early-stage capital to exceptional founding teams setting up ambitious, impact-focused organizations in AI safety.
With the AI safety field still being remarkably small relative to the challenge it addresses, new companies can have an outsized impact on humanity's future while playing into emerging large-scale market demands.
The AI Assurance Technology market, which enables the safe use and governance of AI, is projected to grow to $276 billion by 2030 according to the 2024 AI Assurance report that we contributed to.
Through this network, we facilitate early-stage investments in exceptional founding teams which aim for a strong impact on AI safety. This enables ambitious founders to move quickly from concept to tangible solutions.

Start-ups eligible to apply to the Catalyze Investor Network have typically not received investment before and are primarily incubated through Catalyze Impact’s selective incubation program. These companies synergistically combine their mission of advancing the AI safety field with pursuing compelling commercial opportunities in the rapidly growing AI industry.

Each round features 3-6 pre-vetted start-ups. Network members can coordinate and co-invest, but each member makes independent investment decisions.

The last pitch round took place in February 2025. We expect that pitch rounds will take place roughly two times a year.

For each round, we host an in-person event in London and an online event for group members to network and meet.
We are currently open to applications to join the Investor Network. Joining this network requires a low time commitment, of roughly 2-10 hours twice a year. This network is a good fit for venture capitalists and angel investors with the capacity to invest $20k or more per year and who care about furthering the AI safety field. Joining the network does not create an obligation to invest a minimum amount in a pitch round.

This network focuses on providing early-stage funding to exceptional non-profit founding teams which aim for large contributions to the AI safety field. The targeted support at this stage enables ambitious founders to move quickly from concept to important AI safety research and solutions. Members can either make independent decisions or defer to one of the AI safety experts who are joining as regrantors.
We believe funding early-stage AI safety organizations holds large potential for impact. A relatively small amount of capital (of around $50k-300k) from our network can serve as a catalyst, enabling the launch of new ambitious AI safety organizations. With the AI safety field still being remarkably small relative to the challenge it addresses, additional high-quality research or product organizations can profoundly shape humanity's future.
Non-profits eligible to apply for seed funding from this seed funding circle have typically not received funding before and are primarily incubated through Catalyze Impact’s selective incubation program. All incubated organizations have advancing AI safety as their number one priority.
You can either personally make funding decisions as a circle member, or you could defer to one of our independent regrantors who can evaluate proposals for you. This is a good option if you anticipate having limited time, budget and/or may lack the expertise to effectively judge the proposals. Our regrantors include founders of central AI safety research organizations with strong inside knowledge. Please reach out to learn more about the option of giving through these regrantors.

Circle members received their last proposals in February 2025 with a focus on technical AI safety. We anticipate that proposal rounds will take place roughly two times a year.

Each round features 3-6 organization proposals. Circle members coordinate with one another, but each member either makes independent funding decisions or defers to one of the expert regrantors.

Circle members make a decision within one week regarding which organizations they would like to support, if any. Their decisions likely determine which organizations launch and which don’t.

For each round, we host an in-person event in London and an online event for circle members to network and meet.
We are currently open to applications to join the Seed Funding Circle. Joining this circle requires a low time commitment, of roughly 2-10 hours twice a year. This circle is a good fit for individuals & organization representatives who can donate $15k or more per year and who are excited to support high-leverage interventions in the AI safety field while embracing a hits-based, risk-tolerant approach. Joining the Seed Funding Circle does not create an obligation to donate a minimum amount in a proposal round.
Not sure if you can commit to the minimum hours or donation? We encourage you to express interest regardless as we may still be able to grant you access to our Slack and grant opportunities.
